ThinkCube Innovation

Hi Folks

have been playing with 'thinkcube' and each time I use it I realise the power is infinite.

I was looking at some ideas for getting school pupils to use 'thinkcube' and one line of thought has taken me down a childrens 'animation TV' route

the theme would be - Technology & Engineering Design, their Development & Impact on the Environment & Society (TEDDIES)

Using the acronym above I thought about a group of bears from around the Globe - collaborating / using internet / skype / etc

Black Bear (N Europe); Brown Bear (N Americas); Polar Bear (Arctic); Panda (Asia); Koala (Australia); etc..

Feel free to join in and contribute in any manner you feel you can - you may be a writer; an animator; a model maker; a media producer; etc... all these skills would need to collaborate to make something from the basic ideas

the bears could provide the bare facts (bear facts) of Technology & Engineering Design

what do you think?

Jimmy

Well hello Jimmy!
It looks like I've gate crashed one of the forums that you are party to... lol
I came across you when checking the stats for my marbella rent site in Yahoo's sitexplorer, what a small world this web world is.

Collaboration is key on many projects nowadays, so I'm up for a little more collaboration if I can help.

Cheers,
Martin.

Hi Jimmy

My initial thought is that children would get the bears muddled and it would be easier to remember if the group consisted of different, unusual animals. Eg: kangaroo, giraffe, elephant, dolphin etc.

Each would have a different role. For example (I'm thinking more along lines of "six thinking hats" here for the moment) elephant would remember facts, kangaroo would be the critic (he would "stamp on" negative ideas), giraffe would see the big picture, dolphin would look at the positives (dolphins always look like they're happy and smiling).

What do you think?

Hi John

As you can imaging - time has moved on and so has the initial idea - lack of participation and collaboration meant that I had to go elsewhere and we have a group working away on the idea - currently preparing a pitch for TV - as well as, building up a whole stack of curricular options

I like your thinking though and it has a lot of merit that can be built upon - would be willing to follow this up with you

looking forward to futher collaboration

Hi Jimmy

Yes, time has moved on - certainly since I was a regular on the creativity sites around the internet. I'm just coming back to churning out ideas again. Sounds like the idea has found some impetus though. The pitch idea sounds interesting - would like to know more about that.

On the Ground…

One of the above, plus one of what is seen below, plus 7 of these were lying in the yard. Nobody put them on the ground, but there is a very good reason for their being there.  Can you figure it out? Answers can be entered below, will reveal submissions before the week is over!

Climbing The Christmas Tree!

When Bobo the Bear sent in his Lateral Thinking Math question, he also pointed me to this exceptional Christmas Tree challenge-note that you must have Java installed to play. It’s a lot of fun, and actually not very hard. Hope you all have a Merry Christmas!
