Hi Kes
looks like 'primary / elementary' level and may go down well, would like to see it along with the 'thinkcube' and make an informed judgement - have not spent any real time looking at potential for both - would value the opportunity to do so though

Nice! Let me know what help you need in fostering innovation in Glasgow schools... Alex and I talked on Friday and we were thinking of leveraging MetaMemes the initial creativity game I developed -- http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/13343

It is more fun and might get better adoption from the kids??

Hi Kes
When I met Alex the 2nd time - he came through to the Scottish Annual Celebration of 'Young Engineers Clubs'

I used to run a club which had great success, locally, nationally and internationally - the 'THINKCUBE' would have been a great tool to have - I have been asked to consider trying to co-ordinate activities in the Glasgow schools clubs and I shall be pushing for the THINKCUBE to be distributed to them

Hi James,

I am glad you were able to connect with Alex and check out the ThinkCube for yourself! I completely agree that Alex is a very ICE cool person (C) Jimmy Johnston 2008!

I also completely agree with the educational expansion sets that can be created -- creative writing is something I have used it for already -- an off-shoot game I had created was one around story-telling (it also incporated the Joseph Campbell framework including aspects of Robert McKee's/Aristotle's script format). One of creative projects I play around with is a story book which is also a puzzle/adeventure to solve -- think Da Vinci Code meets Masquerade (puzzle in a book).

I am also fascinated with using ThinkCube to spice up 'Young Entrepreneurs Clubs' -- I have been part of a couple of start-ups and love the idea if starting companies. ThinkCube is a great framework to develop truly unique ideas instead of the run of mill - copycat ideas.

I look forward to your ideas Jimmy... keep ideating (and copyrighting :-) )

Ok Folks
Had a couple of meetings with Alex and managed to actually see the thinkcube in the real - a stunning bit of kit and I think (pardon the pun) that it has the potential to have additional card sets made - to cover educational use & also creative writing - KES(copyright - Jimmy Johnston June 2008) hehe!

Alex has a great understanding of the complex facility and added value of the product, it was a pleasure to meet with such an Innovative, Creative, Enterprising (ICE - cool) person KES(copyright - Jimmy Johnston June 2008) again....haha!

Really looking forward to promoting and using the thinkcube

I posted this elsewhere but it really needs a spot here.

Education and the future.

Futurelab are awesome! Why not visit their site and view or download their valuable documents

Kes

I've just realised that I posted in the other group and on reading it- perhaps it should be in this group

can you transfer it? I only ask, as I cannot see an edit or delete facility

thank you

Hi Kes
OK I must admit that when I contacted you I had downloaded the sample doc's and it was from that - I saw the potential for use in schools - across the whole curriculum and in all sectors - (primary/elementary)(secondary/high)
Without actually seeing all of the current material - my suggestions may duplicate some of what you already have
I am aware of the rapid changes in Scottish education and have just stepped down as the President of the Technology Teachers Association - which is working closely with 'Learning & Teaching' Scotland - LTS, to ensure that the school pupils across all ages are able to take on board many of the aspects contained within the thinkcube material that I have had a chance to examine - I shall paraphrase some of the LTS material and find suitable web-links and post these for the group - the range of possibilities excite me.
